The International Gas Union (IGU) was founded in 1931. It is a worldwide non-profit organisation registered in Vevey, Switzerland with the Secretariat located in London, UK. We created a set of high impact signage for IGU’s new headquarters in WC1 London to convey their brand into their new working environment and client waiting areas. Colour was everything in this project. It was crucial that we adapted IGU’s core colour palette from CMYK to RAL to keep consistency within their overall brand identity. The finished result definitely delivered exactly what it said on the paint tin!
Being our first project with IGU, we really wanted to make things stand out, quite literally, this interior signage was cerated from 10mm clear acrylic to create a subtle yet noticeable extrusion when viewed from an angle. This ultimately game the whole sign an extra layer of detail.
The main flame on the logo was cerated by printing a vinyl graphic then applying it tot he face of the acrylic and subsequently, each part of the sign was then hand painted and matched exactly to IGU’s brand colour palette converting CMYK to RAL.
In total, we installed 3 signs around the building this included 1.5m wide version for the main office, a 600mm version for a meeting room and then a smaller back painted acrylic plaque to sit next to the main entrance.
